Home screen widgets

Inzx includes three high-fidelity home screen widgets designed to blend seamlessly into your Android launcher with dynamic colors, crisp album art, and instant playback controls.

Adding a widget

  1. Long-press any empty space on your Android home screen.
  2. Select Widgets from the menu.
  3. Scroll down to Inzx and choose from the three available widget layouts.
  4. Drag the widget to your desired position on your home screen.

Available widget layouts

  • 2×2 Square Widget: Compact and art-centric. Displays high-resolution album artwork with frosted translucent playback controls (previous, play/pause, next) and like toggle laid over the cover. Ideal for minimalist grid configurations.
  • 4×1 Pill Widget: A slim, low-profile horizontal pill. Shows circular or rounded song thumbnail, track title, artist name, and a responsive play/pause button. Fits cleanly above or below your app dock without consuming vertical space.
  • 4×4 (or 4×2) Wide Console Widget: The complete music dashboard for your home screen. Features large full-resolution artwork, detailed track metadata, a seek progress bar with live elapsed time, and a full row of controls: shuffle, previous track, play/pause, next track, and like toggle.

Features & optimization

  • Material You Dynamic Colors: On Android 12 and newer, widget backgrounds and accent buttons automatically extract matching palettes from your active wallpaper and current album art.
  • Zero Battery Drain: State updates are pushed through Android's native AppWidgetProvider broadcasts only when track state transitions, avoiding battery-draining polling loops.
  • Quick Open: Tapping the album artwork or song title anywhere on the widget instantly opens the Inzx Now Playing screen.
